Common types of vascular birthmarks include hemangiomas (benign tumors of blood vessels), port-wine stains (permanent discolorations caused by dilated capillaries), and venous malformations (abnormally formed veins). While many birthmarks are harmless and fade over time, others can grow, bleed, or affect vital functions depending on their location, especially when present near the eyes, mouth, or airway.

Children and adults with visible vascular birthmarks often face bullying, social exclusion, or low self-esteem.
